Dania Elementary is turning over a new leaf so to speak this year. We have decided as a school to GO GREEN. Last year we started to implement some green initiatives with our recycling program; this year we are going to have many more ways to GO GREEN.  

Some of the new ways we are going to get greener are:

Turning lights off in classrooms and offices when not in use.

Having all our computers go to sleep after 15 minutes of non-use.

Having all our computers turn off automatically at 3:00 PM.

Turning off printers in our school at 3:00 PM as well.

Keeping our recycling program going.

Using document cameras in the classroom for whole group instruction, reducing the use of many handouts.

Setting up printers that can print two-sided.

Scanning our schools handbook and other documentation so it can be shared on our server for staff to view.

Using a fax server for all incoming faxes to reduce paper. 

These are just a few ways we will become greener here at Dania Elementary.  We are hopeful that our students and faculty will take some of these ideas home and use them, this way we all will be doing our part to become greener.
